Katarzyna Figiel

A researcher, foresight practitioner, and project manager with extensive experience at the intersection of strategic foresight, public policy, and social challenges. She has a strong track record of working with both private and public sector clients, domestically and internationally.

She has contributed to a number of research and policy projects at the national and European level. Her work includes foresight studies commissioned by city and regional authorities — including long-term strategic trend analysis for the city of Warsaw and a study on AI’s impact on regional labour markets commissioned by a regional employment authority. At the European level, she has contributed to projects commissioned by the European Commission’s DG RTD, as well as Horizon Europe research projects focused on a just green and digital transition and bioeconomy development in Central and Eastern Europe.

Her expertise combines strategic foresight with an in-depth knowledge of the cultural sector, developed during her work at the National Institute of Museums, where she coordinated research projects including innovative studies on museum performance evaluation and parametrisation systems.

She is the President of the Tangram Foundation, whose mission is to support individuals, communities and organisations in adapting to rapid change and navigating complexity. She is particularly interested in intergenerational dialogue and the search for common ground across generational divides.

She holds a degree in International Relations and postgraduate qualifications in Culture from the Warsaw School of Economics and in Museology from the Jagiellonian University.
